Our Help In Time Of Need (by New Creation Church Pastor Prince)

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

If you are facing a challenge right now, I want you to know that you have a standing invitation from your heavenly Father to come boldly to the throne of grace to “obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.

The phrase “help in time of need” means that you get healing when you are sick, provisions when you are in lack, restoration when your relationship with a loved one breaks down, and favor when news of job cuts or bad prospects are rife.

“Pastor Prince, how can I come boldly when I have been a lousy Christian?”

You can come boldly because you come to God by the blood of Jesus Christ and not by how you have lived your life. So whenever you come into God’s presence, you don’t have to be afraid that your sins will be exposed because the blood of Jesus has removed every one of them. God does not see even one speck of sin in you because He sees only the blood of His Son, which has been shed for your total forgiveness and acceptance.

My friend, when you have failed and need mercy, God’s Word assures you that you will find mercy when you come boldly to God. Mercy means that you don’t get the bad things you deserve, such as condemnation, poverty, failure, loss and even death.

And mercy is not the only thing that you will obtain when you come boldly to God. You will also find grace. Grace means that you get the good things that you don’t deserve, such as health, protection, anointing, favor, good success and life more abundant.

So come boldly to the One who loves you passionately, unconditionally and with an undying love. Come boldly to Him who knows everything about your situation and has the solution. He has wisdom far beyond that doctor you highly respect, that lawyer you greatly honor and the best experts you can consult. Beloved, come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace to help in your time of need!

Mid-Autumn Festival aka Mooncake Festival

(中秋节)

The Definations -Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as “Harvest Festival”, which is one of the most well known Chinese Festival none other than the “moon festival”

The Date -The date of Mid-autumn Festival also known as Chinese Moon Festival is on the 15th moon day of 8th Chinese lunar month

Family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn moon and have mooncakes and pomelos with sip on tea together. They will also play with lanterns and sparkles. Mooncakes symbolise the closeness, harmony and family unity. Pomelos in chinese “Yu” homophonous with the words “protections” expressing the hope that the moon will give them protection. On this day, the moon will be rounder and brighter.

There is a legend story behind, The Story of Chang Er (嫦娥).

Chang Er is a beautiful lady. She was married to Hou Yi, a skilled archer. They were a lovely couple.

There were 10 suns that take turns circling the earth every 10 days. When all the 10 suns circled, it will cause the earth’s surface to burn and threaten mankind. Hou Yi was instructed to kill 9 of the suns with his reowned arrows. He succeed and was rewarded the pill, elixir of life. When he reached home, he hid the pill under his rafter.

One day when he was out for hunting, his wife Chang Er discovered the pill and swallowed it. She found herself flying. Just at that moment, Hou Yi realized what had happened. Chang Er flew out of the window into the sky. He sped after her but was returned back to the earth due to the huge force of the wind.

Chang Er reached the moon breathlessly and coughed out part of the pill. She commanded a rabbit which was sitting under the tree to pound the pill into million pieces so that everyone on earth can share in her elixir life. Hou Yi built a palace in the sun as Yang (the sun and the male principle) and Chang Er as Yin (the moon and the female principle).

Once a year on the 15th day of the full moon, Hou Yi will visit Chang Er. That is why the moon is full and bright on the Mid-Autumn Festival. You will get the see Chang Er and the rabbit images stamped on mooncakes or giftboxes during this festival.

Mooncake Recipes
Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake  By Yan Can Cook, Inc

Makes 2 dozen

1 can (17-1/2 ounces) lotus seed paste
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
Dough
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2-cup non-fat dried milk powder
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup solid shortening, melted and cooled
1 egg yolk , lightly beaten

Method
1. Mix lotus seed paste and walnuts together in a bowl; set aside.

2. Sift flour, milk powder, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat eggs on medium speed until light and lemon colored. Add sugar; beat for 10 minutes or until mixture falls in a thick ribbon. Add melted shortening; mix lightly. With a spatula, fold in flour mixture. Turn dough out on a lightly floured board; knead for 1 minute or until smooth and satiny. Divide dough in half; roll each half into a log. Cut each log into 12 equal pieces.

3. To shape each moon cake, roll a piece of dough into a ball. Roll out on a lightly floured board to make a 4-inch circle about 1/8-inch thick. Place 1 tablespoon of lotus seed paste mixture in center of dough circle. Fold in sides of dough to completely enclose filling; press edges to seal. Lightly flour inside of moon cake press with 2-1/2 inch diameter cups. Place moon cake, seam side up, in mold; flatten dough to conform to shape of mold. Bang one end of mold lightly on work surface to dislodge moon cake. Place cake on ungreased baking sheet. Repeat to shape remaining cakes. Brush tops with egg yolk.

4. Bake in a preheated 375 degree F. oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a rack and let cool.

Speak God’s Word And Activate His Angels

Psalm 103:20
Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.
Notice that the verse says that angels are “heeding the voice of His word”. Now, who gives voice to God’s Word? We do! Each time we speak God’s Word, we give voice to His Word. And when angels hear His Word given voice, they respond!
The Bible says that at the end of Daniel’s three weeks of fasting and praying for an answer from God, the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel and said to him, “I have come because of your words.” (Daniel 10:12)
So when angels hear you saying, “Thank You, Father, no evil shall befall me nor shall any plague come near my dwelling,” (Psalm 91:10) they will come to your aid because you are giving voice to God’s Word. Even if you cannot quote the verse perfectly, they can still come to your rescue.
This was what happened to a lady in the United States. While walking home after an evening church service, she was attacked from behind by a man and dragged toward a dark corner in an alley. In that frantic state, she remembered only one word from that evening’s sermon. So she shouted, “Feathers! Feathers!” Her attacker released her and fled!
Feathers? What did she mean? She was actually referring to Psalm 91:4 — “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge”. In that state of panic, she remembered only one word — “feathers”, and it was enough to cause her attacker to flee. You see, it is not your ability to quote an entire verse perfectly that releases God’s power, but faith in His Word and His love for you. And one word from Him is enough to send your enemies scurrying away.
However, if you know God’s Word by heart but refuse to proclaim it, the power of His Word cannot be released. The Bible does not say that angels heed His Word. No, it says that “His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word”. So beloved, give voice to God’s Word and see His angels respond. His angels are activated for your benefit when you speak His Word!
