The meaning of Christmas

While searching on the web about the true meaning of christmas and I come across this website and it is interesting and would like to share about it ... http://www.woodlandsjunior.kent.sch.uk/customs/Xmas/meaning.htm

Another article i read from buzzle.com
What Is The Meaning Of Christmas?

Why do we celebrate Christmas? Is it the tree? The gifts? The joy to have the family for a dinner? What is the essence of Christmas?Christmas is a birthday!

More than the beautiful decorations, the lights, gifts and the good food on the table, Christmas is a birthday. The very Creator of Earth came to us as a child!

Here is the how the Bible records it:
"Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.

The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus." He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."

Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"

The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God." Luke 1:26-35

"…In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.

While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:1-7

This anniversary is inimitable because of Who Jesus is, but also for the reason that what was prophesied about Him thousands of years before His birth, came true this very night. The prophecies fulfilled in Jesus’ life were not a few, there were over 300 prophecies that all fulfilled in His life. From the time of His birth to the way He would die, crucified, Christ has lived them all.

Now to come back to today’s reality let’s take a look at you, yes at you. Think about this: imagine that all your good friends decided to throw a great party for your birthday, they do let you know because you are so busy and they want to make sure you show up, so, on Saturday at 6 p.m. you must be there! Right, the weekend arrived and elegant, joyful and expecting a great party, you knock at the door of one of your friend’s apartment.

No one seems to hear …well you ring the doorbell, because you realize the music is a bit loud and they might not hear, it is after all the place where your celebration takes place …you wait but…nothing. Knock, knock, ring, ring and almost 30 minutes have passed and they seem to have a great time but no one opened the door for you!

How in the world? This party is for you after all, isn’t it? After a little while the laughter stops of a minute and full of hope, you think they finally heard but…no, it was the champagne glasses clink to make a toast and you hear your name "to our good friend …" Oh, but you are not even in there! How can they do this to you?

After getting tired of waiting you depart…none of your friends called to check why you didn’t come to the party, their phones are off... it goes without saying that …nobody cared. Disappointed and broken hearted you arrive home…unbelievable! Your birthday celebration without you, the celebrated one! And they say they are your friends too…

It is painful when we apply this story to ourselves but …this happens every Christmas. There are so many people who celebrate Christmas without Jesus as their guest! Let’s invite Jesus in our hearts this Christmas and may we really have Him as The most important guest in our homes this year! He brings the true meaning to your Christmas and your life will also be filled with deep joy as long as you have Him in your heart! Once you know Him, you realize you can’t live without Him!

Let's celebrate Jesus Love on this wonderful day. I love you Jesus!
I wish all have a very blessed Christmas!

Life-Changing-Words > LOVE - Job or Company? by Jimmy Ong

To love your job but

don't love your company is risky.

Because you may not know one day

your company will stops loving you.

Unknown.

Life-Changing Thoughts:

To love your company; choose happiness, humor, enthusiasm, gratitude,
kindness, and a positive outlook at work. Choose to enjoy your time at work.
Find others who are like this and spread good cheer.
It’s contagious and it grows.

But if you're stuck in a job you hate, find a new one.
If your work is making you physically ill, it's time to move on.
That misery you feel will carry over to the rest of your life.
Figure out what you love doing and then find a way to get paid to do it.
It's not easy, and it might not happen overnight,
but if you love what you do, your entire life outlook improves.
Once you’ve chose a job you love, you will never have to work a day in your life.

Life-Changing-Words > "Why kill yourself? Life will do it for you."

“Suicide is a permanent solution to A TEMPORARY PROBLEM.”

 Life-Changing Thoughts:
A suicidal person may not ask for help, but that doesn't mean that help isn't wanted.
Most people who commit suicide don't want to die—they just want to stop hurting.

Take any suicidal talk or behavior seriously. It's not just a warning sign that the person is thinking about suicide — IT'S A CRY FOR HELP.

TIPS: Common Misconceptions about Suicide

FALSE: People who talk about suicide won't really do it.
Almost everyone who commits or attempts suicide has given some clue or warning. Do not ignore suicide threats. Statements like "you'll be sorry when I'm dead," "I can't see any way out," — no matter how casually or jokingly said may indicate serious suicidal feelings.

FALSE: Anyone who tries to kill him/herself must be crazy.
Most suicidal people are not psychotic or insane. They must be upset, grief-stricken, depressed or despairing, but extreme distress and emotional pain are not necessarily signs of mental illness.

FALSE: If a person is determined to kill him/herself, nothing is going to stop him/her.
Even the most severely depressed person has mixed feelings about death, wavering until the very last moment between wanting to live and wanting to die. Most suicidal people do not want death; they want the pain to stop. The impulse to end it all, however overpowering, does not last forever.

FALSE: People who commit suicide are people who were unwilling to seek help .
Studies of suicide victims have shown that more than half had sought medical help within six month before their deaths.

FALSE: Talking about suicide may give someone the idea.
You don't give a suicidal person morbid ideas by talking about suicide. The opposite is true — bringing up the subject of suicide and discussing it openly is one of the most helpful things you can do.

Avoid using Plastic Type 3,6 and 7

You have probably heard about the negative health effects of using plastic bottles made with the chemical Bisphenol A. This chemical has been all over the news and has caused a nationwide panic and recalls from retailers. But what exactly is Bisphenol A and is it the only chemical used in plastics that is harmful and unhealthy to use? Are all plastics bad or are there good ones which are safe? Look at the bottom of the plastic bottle and you'll be able to see the indicator of the type of plastic being used.

Plastics by Type

Plastics are broken down into 7 categories based on their polymers and recycle ability. Plastic products are marked with the universal recycle sign, a triangle with a number in the middle. This number lists the type of plastic the product was made of. The plastic types are as follows...

1. PET/PETE: Polyethylene Terephthalate
(water & soda bottles, cooking oil bottles)
2. HDPE: High-Density Polyethylene
(detergent bottles, milk jugs, vitamin bottles)
3. PVC: Polyvinyl Chloride
(shower curtains, shrink wrap, building materials, toys)
4. LDPE: Low-Density Polyethylene
(shopping bags, six-pack rings, cd/dvd cases)
5. PP: Polypropylene
(bottle caps, dishes, candy containers, yogurt containers)
6. PS: Polystyrene
(Styrofoam cups, take-out food containers, peanuts, egg cartons)
7. Other: Polycarbonates + many others
(Reusable water bottles, baby bottles, Tupperware)

Dangerous Plastics to Avoid - 3, 6, 7
Of the plastics types above, the primary materials to watch out for are #3 Polyvinyl Chloride, #6 Polystyrene & #7 Other. These polymers all contain hazardous chemicals.

Plastic #3
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC, V) contains the toxins Chloride and Phthalates which may interrupt hormonal activities. Some plastic wraps may contain DEHA which is considered a carcinogen. The making and disposal of PVC releases dioxin, a poisonous cancer-linked chemical. Avoid prolonged skin contact with PVC.

Plastic #6
Polystyrene (PS) contains the toxic Styrene which is labeled a possible human carcinogen by the EPA. This material also poses environmental problems in it's creation and disposal. Be wary of structural breakdown of Styrofoam cups and trays in the presence of heat and oil.

Plastics #7
Other - contains all types of plastics not listed under 1-6. Many of these plastics may be safe but Polycarbonates (Trade name LEXAN) which contains Bisphenol A is also listed under category 7 so be careful. Bisphenol A (aka BPA) are endocrine disrupters, which mimic hormones. They may cause havoc on human hormones through plastics leaching into hot beverages and may also be a potential carcinogen. Do not use these products with infants and small children and never use them to heat liquids or formula.

*NOTE: Not all category #7 plastics include the BPA toxin. Group #7 also includes compostable plastics made of organic material such as corn, which may actually be more environmentally friendly than most general plastics. Most of these biodegradable cups are typically labeled to inform you of their eco-product nature.

Safer Plastics to Use - 1, 2, 4, 5
Of the remaining plastics in our list the safest plastics to use for food or water storage is #5 Polypropylene followed by #1 Polyethylene & #2 HD Polyethylene.

Plastics #5
Polypropylene (PP) is a robust plastic that is heat resistant considered highly safe for human use. Due to its high heat tolerance, Polypropylene is unlikely to leach even when exposed to warm or hot water. This plastic is approved by the FDA for use with food and beverage storage. Polypropylene plastics can be re-used safely and with hot beverages.

Plastics #1-#2
Polyethylene & HD Polyethylene (PET, HDPE) are considered safe to use in normal conditions where the plastic will not leak too much into water. HD Polyethylene #2 is the more durable of the two. However these plastics may leach when exposed to UV, heat and over time from natural breakdown. The FDA deems this plastic to be safe but you should error on the side of safety. Never put hot liquids into these plastics, leave them out in the sun, or reuse these bottles. Also check for shelf-life as leaching will intensify over time. Think one-time, single-use only!

Plastics #4
Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE) is rarely used in products that would affect human health. This plastic is considered safe but not very environmentally eco-friendly.

Clothed With Jesus’ Robe Of Righteousness (By New Creation Church, Pastor Prince)

Leviticus 1:6

And he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.

Do you know who first clothed man with coats of skin? It was God Almighty Himself, when He found Adam and Eve hiding behind the bushes because they were afraid of Him. They had become fearful and conscious that they had sinned against God. In their sin-consciousness, they realized that they were naked and that the glory of God, which had been their covering, was gone.

So God killed an animal to clothe Adam and Eve with coats of skin. (Genesis 3:21) An animal had to die and its bloodied skin became their covering. This speaks of the blood of Jesus that covers you when He became your burnt offering. The Lamb of God did not just take away your sins. He also gave you His righteousness.

Beloved, you are covered by Jesus’ blood. You are righteous by His blood. God has clothed you with the robe of righteousness, which was paid for by Jesus’ blood. I am not talking about a physical robe made of cloth. I am talking about the robe of righteousness that was on Jesus when He said to the storm, “Peace, be still!” and there came a perfect calm (Matthew 8:23–27), when healing flowed from Him to the sick and when He raised Lazarus from the dead. (John 11:38–44)

When you believe that you are righteous because of Jesus’ blood, you will see the effects of wearing His robe of righteousness. You will see miracles happening before your very eyes. You become a blessing magnet, a favor or grace magnet. It is not your own righteousness, but the righteousness of Jesus which you have put on, that is attracting all these blessings of God into your life.

My friend, have the consciousness of being clothed with Jesus’ robe of righteousness. Every day, come to God and say, “Father, I thank You that Jesus is my burnt offering. He covers me from head to toe with His righteousness. What He is to You, I am. As He is now, so am I. I am in Him.” And you will see the manifestations of the blessings of health, wholeness, protection and prosperity that the robe attracts!

The Life Of Jesus Is In You (By New Creation Church, Pastor Prince)

John 10:10

I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Though Jesus is completely God, He was born completely human. He went through temptation after temptation and conquered every one of them. (Hebrews 4:15) And all that overcoming power is found in His life. And He put that life in you — the life of Christ is in you!

During Jesus’ ministry on earth, He conquered sickness, the winds and waves, the powers of darkness and death. It is His life that brings victory over the devil and all his works. And He put that life in you — the life of Christ is in you!

Finally, Jesus went to the cross. And that life in Him put an end to everything that was natural of the Adamic race — sickness, poverty, failures, pains, curses and death. All that was natural ceased to be in that life of His. But all that was supernatural remained in Him. And He put that life in you — the life of Christ is in you!

Then, Jesus rose from the dead. And in that life of His was added the power of resurrection. And He put that life in you — the life of Christ is in you!

After His resurrection, Jesus went back to heaven to His Father. Today, He is seated at the right hand of God, resting in His finished work, occupying a place of the highest authority. And He put that life in you — the life of Christ is in you!

And because Jesus went back to the Father, the Holy Spirit came to indwell you (John 16:7), so that you will live life with His anointing in you and walk in His overcoming power.

All that Jesus is, God meant for you to be. All that He has, God meant for you to have. All the exciting things that you read in the Bible about Jesus, all the treasures of Him hidden in the Old Testament and the unsearchable riches in Him that you find in the New Testament, all of that life of His, is not out there somewhere. God has deposited all of it in you, so that you can live the abundant life that Jesus came to give you!
